Simple Vegan Fried Brown Rice

Vegan Fried Rice


Good For: Lunch, Dinner


Try our simple, clean and delicious Vegan Fried Brown Rice substituting egg with crumbled tofu. Fried rice is best when using cold rice cooked the previous day so that the rice is still firm after reheating. We used our organic and wildlife-friendly Brown Jasmine rice, but you can also use White or Semi-Milled.

Vegan Fried Rice

• 2 cups of refrigerated rice cooked the day before
• 1 block of firm tofu
• ½ tbsp of ground turmeric
• ½ cup of carrot chopped into small squares
• ½ cup of chopped string bean
• 1 small onion finely chopped
• 4 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 tbsp of minced ginger
• 1 tsp of chopped birds eye chilli
• 1 cup of chopped spinach
• 3-4 tbsp of soy sauce
• 2 tbsp of sunflower oil
• Ground black pepper (to taste)
• Fresh lime juice (to taste)
• Sriracha (to taste)


1. Heat oil in a wok on medium heat and use your hands to crumble tofu
2. Add crumbled tofu to wok with turmeric and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Stirfry for 1 minute.
3. Add chopped onion and stirfry until tender and translucent
4. Add carrots and string beans and stirfry for 2 minutes
5. Add minced ginger, garlic, chilli and cooked rice
6. Increase to high heat and add remaining soy sauce. Stirfry for 2 minutes
7. Add chopped spinach and stirfry for 1 minute
8. Add ground black pepper and stirfry for another minute
9. Serve in a large bowl with squeezed lime and sriracha and enjoy!
